Your English is good enough to read the literature.
Is it good enough to own the room?

Most European medical specialists can read a New England Journal paper without difficulty. Fewer can present their research at the ESC Congress, handle an unexpected question from the floor, or hold a fluid conversation with an international colleague — without that familiar hesitation.

It isn't a knowledge gap. It's a fluency gap. And it costs you more than you realise: in credibility, in collaboration, in the international profile you've earned through years of clinical work.

"The biggest obstacle for European doctors at international conferences isn't their science. It's their English in the moment — under pressure, improvising, thinking out loud."

Conversational fluency is a skill, and like any clinical skill, it improves with deliberate, consistent practice. That's what this programme provides.

Three pillars. Twelve weeks. One clear outcome.

Two 30-minute sessions each week via Zoom, built around the three situations where medical English fluency matters most.

Pillar One

Conference Confidence

Presenting research clearly, fielding Q&A without freezing, networking naturally with peers from other countries. We work through your actual presentations, the language of cardiology panels, and the informal English of conference corridors — the part nobody teaches.

Pillar Two

Research Fluency

Discussing clinical findings in spoken English, explaining methodology, articulating the implications of your work. We use real journal articles and research you're currently working on — so every session is immediately relevant.

Pillar Three

Professional English

The daily language of international medical life: emails, introductions, visiting specialists, multidisciplinary meetings with non-English-speaking colleagues. Fluid, natural, appropriately informal — not textbook English, but real English.

Everything included in the programme

Your errors, identified and corrected — within two hours of every session.

After each Zoom class, your session is transcribed and analysed using AI. Within two hours, a personalised error report arrives in your inbox — identifying your most common mistakes, explaining why they sound unnatural, and giving you the exact phrases a native British speaker would use instead.

How it works

Zoom records your session automatically. The audio is transcribed using Whisper — the most accurate transcription tool available for non-native English speakers. The transcript is then analysed by AI trained to identify the specific patterns that intermediate-level European medical professionals most commonly produce. The report is in your inbox before your next clinical commitment of the day.

Example — what your report looks like

What you said Natural alternative Why it matters
"I am specialised in cardiology." "I specialise in cardiology." Direct Spanish transfer — appeared 3× in this session
"I make research on TAVI." "I'm doing research on TAVI." Incorrect verb collocation — 'make' is not used with research in English
"It depends of the patient." "It depends on the patient." Preposition error — 'depends' always takes 'on' in English
"Your description of the cath lab procedure was exceptionally clear — precise vocabulary, logical sequence, natural pace. That is exactly the standard you want at an international conference."

Every report also includes one specific positive observation and one focus point to practise before the next session. Progress is tracked across all 24 sessions — so by week 12, you can see exactly which errors you've eliminated and what remains to work on.

Dr M came to me three months before the ESC Congress. This is what happened.

He was a senior interventional cardiologist. Published researcher. Excellent clinician. His English was what he called "functional" — he could read papers, write emails, follow lectures. But he had never presented in English, and the thought of standing in front of 400 international colleagues and fielding questions from the floor was keeping him awake at night.

We worked twice a week for 12 weeks. Every session was built around his actual presentation, his research, his words. We ran the Q&A so many times that he stopped dreading it and started to find it interesting. After each session, a personalised error report was in his inbox within two hours — the same errors, tracked and corrected week after week, until they disappeared.

He presented at the ESC Congress. Took five questions from the floor. Answered every one — clearly, calmly, in his own words.

"I finally felt like myself up there."

That is what this programme is for. Not perfect English. Yourself, in English.

British Dave

David Smith · Native British English Speaker · Based in Spain

I've worked with cardiologists and medical professionals specifically — which means I understand the professional context you operate in, the language of your field, and the communication situations that matter most to you.

I don't teach generic conversational English. Every session is built around your work, your goals, and your specific pressure points — whether that's the ESC Congress in August or a departmental meeting with visiting colleagues next week.

After every session, a personalised AI-powered error analysis is in your inbox within two hours. No other English tutor offers this. It means your English improves between sessions as well as during them — compounding your progress across all 12 weeks.

All sessions are delivered via Zoom, one-to-one, at times that fit around your schedule.

Common questions

Do I need to be a cardiologist specifically?

No. The programme is designed for cardiologists and medical specialists broadly — including neurologists, oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and other hospital physicians. The core need is the same: English fluency for international professional life.

What level of English do I need to start?

Intermediate and above. You should be able to hold a basic conversation in English. This programme is designed to move you from functional to fluent — not to teach you English from scratch.

How do the sessions work?

All sessions are via Zoom, one-to-one, 30 minutes each, twice a week. We schedule them around your clinical rota. Sessions are conversational — we talk, I guide, correct, and push you to use more natural and confident English in real situations.

How does the AI error analysis work?

Zoom records every session automatically. The audio is transcribed and then analysed to identify your most common errors — patterns that recur across the session, phrasing that sounds unnatural to a native speaker, and direct translation errors from your first language. The report lands in your inbox within two hours of the session ending, in plain language you can read and act on immediately.

What if I need to reschedule a session?

Medical schedules are unpredictable — I understand that. Sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours' notice, and I'll always do my best to accommodate urgent clinical commitments.

Can I focus specifically on an upcoming conference?

Absolutely. If you have the ESC Congress, a visiting professorship, or any other English-language event on the horizon, we can structure a significant portion of your sessions around that specific goal.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. The full programme is €997 paid upfront, or three monthly payments of €369. Mention this on your discovery call and we'll arrange it before you start.
